Blue Tongue Adventure Toowoomba is inviting young people in the disability community to an exciting and inclusive Disco Night. The event focuses on music, dancing, social connection, inclusion and fun.

Held on Friday 12 June from 6pm – 9pm at Blue Tongue Adventure Toowoomba, the event has been designed as a relaxed and welcoming social experience. It encourages confidence, friendship and community connection. It’s the perfect chance to meet new people, enjoy a safe night out and experience the fun community Blue Tongue Adventure is known for.

More than just a disco, the evening is an opportunity for current participants, potential new participants, friends and families to connect in a supportive environment.

Creating Inclusive Social Opportunities for Young Adults with Disability

At Blue Tongue Adventure, we’re passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for young adults with disability. Our programs focus on building confidence, independence and social connection.

Through inclusive disability day programs, social events, respite services and community participation supports, we create experiences that are empowering and genuinely fun.

The Disco Night has been designed to reflect exactly that.

Blue Tongue Adventure Pathway Coordinator Kat Manual says the team wanted to create a night that feels fun, relaxed and welcoming for everyone. More than just a disco, the event creates opportunities for young people to connect, build confidence and feel included.

What to Expect on the Night

Attendees can look forward to:

  • A disco and dance floor
  • Lawn games and basketball
  • A paint station
  • A dedicated chill-out space for downtime
  • Food and drinks, with extra goodies available for purchase

The event is open to anyone in the local disability community aged 17 to 30. This includes current Blue Tongue participants and people wanting to learn more about the organisation and its supports.

Attendees are welcome to attend independently, with their own supports, or alongside Blue Tongue support workers.

What is Blue Tongue Adventure?

At Blue Tongue Adventure, we create engaging disability day programs for young adults aged 17–30 across Bayside Brisbane and Toowoomba.

Designed by young people, for young people, our programs focus on confidence, independence, life skills and social connection. Everything is delivered in a fun, supportive and inclusive environment.

We offer a huge range of creative and hands-on programs. These are designed to help you explore your interests, meet new people and try new experiences. Programs include cooking, woodworks, music, dance, theatre, art, ceramics and so much more. No two days at Blue Tongue Adventure are ever the same.

Whether you love being creative, getting out in the community or building practical life skills, there’s something for everyone. We create spaces where you can feel included, supported and empowered to be yourself.

Building Connection Through Community

At Blue Tongue Adventure, social connection and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do.

Events like the Disco Night give you the chance to enjoy social experiences in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. They also help young people develop friendships, confidence and stronger community connections.

For many young adults living with disability, inclusive social opportunities can be difficult to find. We aim to change that by creating events and programs designed specifically for young people and their interests.
